This card sort
is for practicing identifying and understanding of the differences between physical and chemical change.
See the VIDEO PREVIEW: Chemical and Physical Change Card Sort
The card sort comes with 24 cards... 12 cards for physical change and 12 cards for chemical change. Each card provides an illustration for students to figure out. The answer to the question is on the back of the card. The answers on the back of the cards are slightly faded so that they do not show through. Using card stock paper works best to keep the answers from showing through.
The great part about this card sort is that there are two envelope cut-outs provided for each chemical/physical change card set. These envelopes hold each set of cards and these envelopes can be glued onto a page in the journal as shown in the picture above.
Each envelope has an empty section with lines for students to write the definition of physical change and chemical change, both with a fold-over with a name to identify it with.
Using card stock paper for the cards works the best! Be sure to print cards two-sided! Let me know what you think! Thanks!
