This product was a long-awaited idea I had rattling around in my brain. I often found that students were coming into the intermediate grades not knowing that there was a process to all of those fun and exciting experiments they were doing in the junior grades, and that there is a writing component to science!
So, I present to you the Lab Report Guidelines - a Powerpoint that goes over each section of a Lab Report, and also includes a set of slides that match the presentation which have been set up with Fill-in-the-Blanks. These were created with a high school science teacher, to help the students with a solid transition into high school science writing and experiment development.
The Powerpoint includes 20 slides:
- 1 Title Slide (Presentation)
- 1 General Information Slide on Lab Reports
- 8 Slides that match each section of a Lab Report
*Title Page Outline
- 1 Title Slide (Fill-In-The Blank)
- 9 matching slides that correspond to the original presentation, only with blanks
Fill-in-the-Blank Slides are easily printed from Powerpoint, and can be put four to a page for optimal photocopying.
For those with iPads in the classroom, this Powerpoint file can be altered to include only the actual presentation, which can then be shared via Google Drive, Google Classroom, and other board initiated file-sharing sites.
