This resource provides 12 vibrant color bird photographs for playing the game “Memory.” This resource allows for 3 fun modes of play:
Match color photographs to color photographs (traditional play)
Match black-and-white to color photographs (use for teaching color words)
Match names to color photographs (use for young readers/language arts).
Print, Laminate, Cut & Play!
The depicted birds are:
(Cordon Blue) Finch
(Gouldian) Finch (one)
(Gouldian) Finch (pair)
(Lavender Waxbill) Finch
These pictures can also be used to dress-up your Science Bulletin Board!
The resource is provided as a powerpoint file so you can edit the page-size or picture size should you need to. It is formatted to print on letter-size paper and each picture/flash card is 2.5 by 2.5 inches square. The black-and-white photos are black-and-white versions of the color photos (so identical except for color). Dotted lines are provided between the pictures to make cutting easier. To play with the color photographs only, simply print two copies of the page with the color photographs. (The preview file is a pdf and only includes the black-and-white copies of the pictures because TpT has a size limit on preview files.) The final page of the resource includes my contact information.
The names are written in 28 point Arial font. I did not include highly scientific names as I feel this resource is ideal for the pre-k, kindergarten, first and second grade levels, however, if you would like these, please do not hesitate to ask!
I took these photographs myself in a variety of locations. You do not need to play with all 12 pictures. You can also combine these flash cards with those from my other animal-themed memory games.
I hope you enjoy this resource.
