This is a selection of lessons that help children learn important skills regardless of the subject matter being explored - science, math, arts, music...

This lesson includes 2 introduction, 12 activities that integrate several subject areas, and 4 conclusion options. In addition, this lesson includes one of my most popular lessons on helping kids learn to ask critical thinking questions and three observation charts that you can use to capture information for documentation and portfolio purposes.

The lessons are intended to provide multiple ways to differentiate, learn, re-learn, review, and extend learning by offering a choice board of introduction, main lesson activity, and conclusion options. Mix and match, or better yet, have the children mix and match to meet their readiness, interest, and learning needs. Many of these ideas are great to share with parents as activities they can do at home (e.g. share in a monthly newsletter or at a parent-teacher conference to integrate parents into the learning process).

(Note: As a classroom teacher, you do NOT need to purchase multiple licenses to distribute to your parents. I only ask that each teacher make the purchase once.)

Objectives: The child will be able to...

- Ask questions about observation and interaction
- Use all five senses to identify and utilize patterns
- Challenge oneself to take different perspectives on how to observe
- Recognize, contemplate, and reflect on how interactions have positive, negative, and neutral intended, unintended, and unimagined effects
- Analyze and evaluate how mindful observation can influence choices within his/her own life
- Plan (and perhaps take) personally meaningful action to use the information to further personal priorities and goals
