Are you planning to conduct an experiment in the classroom and need a recording tool for the students? This journal is perfect for one-day or long-term experiments. I created this journal so that my students could see the scientific method in action and be a part of the process. I hope that your students love it, as well. In this packet, you will find 15 different pages.
1. Cover Page
2. Did you know page
3. Scientific Method
4. Vocabulary Words for Common Language
5. KWL for questions and discoveries
7. Tools needed
8. Experiment Plan
9. Bar Graph
11. Observations (Picture or drawing only)
12. Observations (Picture and writing)
13. What did you notice that changed or stayed the same? T-Chart
14. Venn Diagram
15. Analysis and Conclusion
Note: These pages are half and full pages, and can be assembled in any order you choose. I prefer to print them 2-sided, cut them in half, and staple along the left-hand side to create a mini-booklet. For long-term projects, I made multiple copies of the observation page and made sure to include them with the originals before I made class-set copies of the booklet.
If you do use these for your experiments, I'd love to hear what kind of experiments you did! Please let me know what you thought of this little booklet in the comments below!
