• In this lesson, students will be learning about the phases of the moon and how the moon affects the earth. The teacher will tell students that today, “We are going to talk about the about the phases of the moon.” The teacher will ask students,”What are some things or characteristics we have learned about the moon?” (craters, mountains, dusty grey, brightest object in the night sky) The students’ responses will be listed on the white board. The teacher will show students a large picture of the moon detailing its’ craters. Students will recall prior knowledge: the moon has no air so we need spacesuits, the moon does not have wind or rain. .
