This portfolio activity is designed for a grade 9 or 10 science class which covers chemistry, biology, physics and Earth & space units. The students must research science articles representing each unit of study, communicate what they were about and be able to think critically about their applications and what further investigations should be done. The activity is broken down into 3 parts and includes a marking scheme.
The activity works well as an end of year assessment and can be modified for other courses by adjusting what types of articles the students must find. Also an easy way to incorporate literacy into the science classroom.
