We create interactive science notebooks every year and they are definitely a work in progress! These are one of the first entries in our science notebook every year! First, students create the flap books that show our science process skills and then they practice using each one with gummy worms. I usually give the students five gummy worms in a brown lunch bag and they take them out one by one as they need to use them. The reason you need more than one per student is because I let them eat one as part of the observation skill, etc.
We also make Science Process Skills Posters to hang in the classroom. There is a more detailed list of process skills for the kids to choose from for the poster design.
Our science notebooks are composition books, so I reduce each page to 80% when I copy them.
I will be posting more of these interactive science notebook packs as I make them, topic by topic. You will be able to purchase the ones that are appropriate to your students and your curriculum!
