This Science Review Activity Station helps students review information about the properties of parts of an atom and how to calculate atomic mass. This activity is meant to quickly and thoroughly review previously taught material. This activity station is easy to set up, and perfect for intervention, spiraling throughout the year, or STAAR test prep. This station is targeted for the 8th grade Texas Standard (TEKS) 8.5.A, however is great to use for any state that covers this material.
In the station, students will
1) Complete a cut and paste vocabulary matching activity
2) Complete a science CLOZE activity
3) Complete a short modeling activity
4) Answer four multiple choice questions
Vocabulary words covered in this review are: Element, Atom, Nucleus, Proton, Neutron, Electron, and Atomic Mass
Concepts covered in this review station are describing the structure of an atom, including the masses, electrical charges, and locations, of protons and neutrons in the nucleus and electrons in the electron cloud.
