This activity can either be completed in the computer lab, or as a "paper power point slide." I have students work on this in pairs and give each group a specific laboratory safety rule to focus on. The students provide five facts about their safety area and illustrate an example and a non-example of it.
If completing in the lab, I have the students email me their slide and I compile them to make a master power point, then we work through it in the class, and each pair presents their slide while the students take notes on the power point "notes" pages you can print off.
If not using in the lab, I compile all their paper slide and make a master "Safety Handbook" that is put on display the rest of the year. I have also provided an template for students who might need extra assistance.
Don't forget to also download my FREE "Safety Power Point Rubric" from my store.
