Product Description
This is a fun, engaging way to spice up a lesson on science lab safety!

This 31-page product includes:
- 2 science safety scavenger hunts with 14 clues/stations each (one hunt is the "techy" version with QR codes and the other can be used 100% without technology. Print the one that best fits your classroom's technology capabilities)
- 3 student recording sheet options
- 1 teacher answer key
- 2 science safety certificate options
- a technology-centered extension activity
- thorough directions for the teacher (great for sub plans, too!)

This lesson reviews basic safety rules for a science lab including:
- wear closed-toe shoes during investigations
- use the fire extinguisher or fire blanket in case of fire
- waft chemicals
- use the eye wash station if a chemical gets in your eye
- and more!

Recommended items for this activity:
-QR code scanning devices for each group, if you plan to use the QR version of this product
-a pair of safety goggles
-a fire extinguisher and/or fire blanket
-an apron or lab coat
-a trash can
-a sink
-an eye wash station
-a smelly chemical in a beaker or cup {I recommend vinegar or peppermint oil}
-bandages
-paper towels
-closed-toe shoes
-a student chair
-a pair of heat resistant gloves
-phone

**If you don't have one or more of the above-mentioned materials, you can conduct an internet search for pictures of the objects. The only thing you really MUST have is the chemical in a beaker or cup, because students will practice wafting it.
