This is a Powerpoint including visuals and simple definitions for students learning about sound in science. The visuals provide comprehensible input for English Language Learners that would not understand from written definitions alone. This is a great resource for all learners! In addition to basic sound vocabulary I have included the parts of the human ear with simple explanations of how they work.
The tier three (content specific) vocabulary words with visuals and definitions are: amplify, bass, decibel, echo, frequency, stethoscope, volume, pitch, sound wave, ultrasonic sound wave, resonance, insulate, outer ear, middle ear, ear drum, cochlea, nerve to brain, and bones of the middle ear.
The font is embedded in this Powerpoint and it is fully editable, should you wish to add or delete slides. It would also print nicely to make vocabulary visuals or a bulletin board.
