This packet is one in a series intended to serve as a resource for teachers who know they are going to be absent from school for one or more days. Let’s be honest with each other, we know that when we’re out we have three basic choices: have the students do a worksheet which may or may not get done, show a science video which is slightly related to the topic being covered in class, or show a movie which has nothing to do with science but provide the kids with an hour or so of mindless entertainment.
Now, there is an alternative. No More Boring Science has created a set of notes for your students to work through, while at the same time there is an accompanying video the students watch. Now you can give the students reinforcement or cover new material during your absence. The material is designed to be as customizable as possible. Word documents that are easy to edit, and videos that are given to you in discrete units. Already covered significant figures? Don’t show it! Want to incorporate some additional practice into the notes? Go ahead!
If you purchase the Deluxe Package, you get a bonus video of our instructor going through each of the major types of science questions from the material for this unit. You are also given a copy of the questions in worksheet format for your students. Keys are of course included.
The videos are available on YouTube. If your school blocks youtube, you have our permission to download the videos using a service like clipconverter.com, and show the videos from a USB memory device.
We ask that you do not share these resources or videos with your colleagues without buying additional licenses for them. Please respect the many hours of hard work that have gone into creating this work. By purchasing licenses, you enable us to create even more materials, and enhance ones you may already be interested in.
