Another article in the cross-curricular series. Knowing that it is important to see an issue from many sides to get a good grasp of it, I decided to look at historical happenings like the plague, salem witch trials, Henry VIII's problems, etc. through the eyes of a science teacher. In this article, we look at the scientific cause of the plague from bacteria to flea to host. I also looked at other interesting anecdotes such as the plague doctor's costume and a well-known nursery rhyme's possible association with the plague. This article would be suitable for Biology, Health, World History and English classrooms.
