A guided logbook for completing a Science Investigation independently.
Have you considered completing a Passion Project or Genius Hour project in your Science Classroom? I did this for the first time last year and the students loved getting to take ownership over their own learning. They spent 8 weeks designing and implementing their own science investigation and then presenting their findings to the class.
As they needed some guidance through this process, I designed this logbook to help them and give them a target to work towards, and keep them accountable throughout the process.
This booklet starts from the very beginning of any science investigation: generating a question to explore, all the way through writing methods, completing trials, analysing data and presenting findings.
This may be a little advanced for some younger students, as it is aimed at Junior Science in High School. But it could definitely be used to push those top students in Elementary/Middle School!
The beauty of this, is that students get to show their creativity and you will be amazed at what they come up with!
