PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This pack contains 3 activities, with lesson steps (based on the Grade 1/2 science unit on Changes) and worksheets for each.

Activity 1: Students melt and re-harden chocolate. The worksheet asks them to describe the changes at each stage of the experiment using scientific language. When the experiment is done, students create a word chain and decide if the changes to the chocolate were reversible or irreversible.

Activity 2: Students toast bread. The worksheet asks them to describe the changes at each stage of the experiment using scientific language. When the experiment is done, students create a word chain and decide if the changes to the chocolate were reversible or irreversible.

Activity 3: Students are given pictures of cooked and uncooked spaghetti, and a frozen and melted iceblock. They must then create a word chain to describe the changes to these foods, using what they have learnt from past experiments. This could be used as revision or as an assessment task.
