More Info:

The poster is in acrostic poem format and is created by attaching 6 pages to each other. It is easy to assemble and directions are included in the resource, along with a photo of what it looks like when put together. (All you need to do is glue, tape or staple the tops of some pages to the bottoms of other pages.) To use the poster to introduce the scientific method to your students, ask them to share ideas about the images on the poster, such as how they represent the scientific method, and then read the poster. Either you can read it or you can ask student volunteers to read it. Then display the poster on a bulletin board for student reference while you teach the unit. At the end of the unit, you can ask students to explain what each line of the poem relates to the scientific method.

The word search activity includes 17 vocabulary words related to the scientific method and can be used as a challenge for early finishers or for all students to do in class or for homework. There are 3 versions of the word search puzzle: with color clipart, with black-and-white clipart, and without any clipart. All versions have corresponding answer keys.

The short writing task about the scientific method lets students demonstrate their knowledge of the topic. Students have to select some of the 17 target vocabulary words and use them in a paragraph about the scientific method. A lined page is provided for students who need additional writing space. An assessment checklist is included so you can easily evaluate your students’ writing. This also comes in 3 versions: with color clipart, with black-and-white clipart, and without any clipart

A list of the ELA Common Core standards that this resource helps address is also included.

These 3 activities will definitely help deepen your students' understanding of the scientific method!
