This assessment can be used as a summative, culminating assessment after a unit on the scientific method. This assessment was written using the MYP Level 3 Science Criterion A Assessment rubric. However, the assessment can easily be graded with points as well. On the MYP Next Chapter Criterion A rubric students can see a vocabulary box that explains the key terms in the descriptors and as students move through the assessment each question progressively gets harder and forces students to use more scientific vocabulary, evidence, and reasoning.
The assessment includes information regarding the process of the scientific method, variables, and graphing. There are multiple choice, fill-in the blank, short answer, data analysis questions.
