Scientific Method experiments, lab activities and extensions.
This is an ‘easy to follow‘ unit to start your year using the Scientific Method. These three Science experiments are designed to introduce students to The Scientific Method. They will learn how to ‘write up’ an experiment properly. It is also to get students excited about Science. These Scientific Method experiments are designed to be ‘hands on’ and engaging. This is an ideal Back to School package.
Contained in this package are three different experiments designed for specific purposes in teaching the Scientific Method.
Experiment #1 (Mounting Tension)
Students will learn how to observe, record and draw conclusions while writing up a simple experiment using the Scientific Method.
Experiment #2 (Seeing is Believing)
Students will hone their observation skills using all their senses. They will learn the importance of not relying on just one of their senses to draw conclusions.
Experiment #3 (Salt and Pepper)
Students will be required to design their own method (procedure) to complete an experiment. This experiment engages students’ creativity in the design process.
