This is a great way to work through the scientific method process in class using everyday materials. The activity spans 2 days and includes all student directions, student data tables, pre-lab chart and post lab questions/graphing directions.
Each group of students needs 4 gummy bears, beakers (4), and 4 different solutions to run through the process. When I do this lab with my students it leads to some great in class discussions on the scientific method, but also measurement (volume and density). Student can work in group of 2 or individually depending on the space or materials you have.
