This is a game where students have 2 sets of cards turned face down, 40 cards in all, and take turns trying to pick a match by revealing 2 cards at a time. If everyone pays attention, players can easily find a match!
Students try to match a description of a step in the scientific method with the 'step' it describes. There are 20 clues to try to match to a step in the scientific method. Make as many copies of the set that you need so each of your student groups can play. Play should take about 20 minutes.
The 'step' cards in the game are: Problem, Hypothesis, Experiment, Collect Data, and Draw Conclusions. Four sets of the 5 cards are provided, and four sets of 'example' cards are provided.
The students will enjoy playing! Use the game as a review after you have studied the steps of the scientific method. Use it at a station if you have other station activities available. Use it on days when an assembly or pep rally has caused shorter periods and the kids are wound up anyway!
