This is a great opportunity for students to practice what they learned regarding the scientific method. There are three different scenarios in which students read and then have to figure out the variables and either identify or write a question, hypothesis, and procedure based on each scenario. These scenarios can be given as warm-ups, collaborative class-work, or homework. They serve as great tools for students to apply their learning. In addition to the scenarios, there is also a fun and engaging penny lab where students have to actually carry-out the scientific method in order to figure out how many drops of water the surface of a penny can hold.
