The first step of the scientific method involves creating a scientific question. Students need to have a good understanding of scientific questions because they are the foundation of an experiment. This worksheet has three paragraphs of background information about what makes a good scientific question. Then there are eight practice problems asking students to identify independent and dependent variables, determine if a scientific question is measurable, and decide if the question is good or bad and why. This worksheet can be used in class or as homework.
This worksheet can also be purchased in the money saving Scientific Questions Package
, which includes a PowerPoint, interactive notebook pages, homework assignment, and assessment.
