This Scientific Method Sorting Activity by Hoop There It Is presents students with five sets of words describing processes involved in the Scientific Method. The goal of this Jigsaw-style activity is to get students to see that science is about solving problems, answering questions, testing predictions, analyzing results, and forming conclusions—no matter how we word it! I use it at the beginning of the year to introduce and review the scientific method with my high school students. Great for individual, small group, or full class work.
This package includes:
- Big Idea, Prep Steps, and Lesson Plan (pg. 2)
- Overview & Answer Key (pg. 3)
- Printable process cards (pg. 4-8)
Prentice Hall Physical Science and Paul G. Hewitt Conceptual Physics textbooks serve as sources for two of the five lists of science processes.
