This vocabulary stack review activity is a low-prep, self-checking review that is great for an individual, partner, or station activity. Students lay the cards out in front of them, vocabulary word up, then flip any card over so that the definition is visible. They find the word that matches their definition and stack it on top of their first card, exposing a new definition and creating their vocabulary "stack". If they come to a definition that doesn't match any of their remaining words, it's time to check their work again because they matched up a card incorrectly. When they've finished, the word on the bottom of the stack will match the definition on the top! This makes it easy for students to check themselves- no more standing over them while they're working!
This FREE download of 20 vocabulary word cards includes:
**two different printing options (one print-and-go option that works well for copiers that always align copies front-to-back correctly, one some-prep-required option if you don't want to play around with copier alignment!)
**a teacher guide with instructions for assembling the cards and extension variations on the activity
**an answer key showing the words and definitions.
