This lesson gets the point across!!! Scientists must communicate clearly to provide evidence for their claims. Methods and procedures MUST BE REPEATABLE. While I understand that the scientific method is fluid, and I use CER and ADI, this is still an invaluable step in the process. So many times, students will just say "Put the acid in the test tube"...What acid? What molarity? How many milliliters? The details are important to real scientists AND in the classroom.
This activity includes 36 unique pictures. Students receive one picture and must write a step-by-step procedure for another to student to follow to draw the picture accurately. Students then receive a procedure written by their classmate and must replicate the picture.
Show the original and student-drawn pictures side by side - you and the students will be laughing at the not-so-great ones, and 'Ooohing and Aahhing' at the really good ones!
This activity is great for all age groups and science disciplines
