Obviously, it is best to do some hands-on experiments with our students to show them the steps of the Scientific Method. However, sometimes they need more practice and there isn't always time to do experiments everyday. So, I've come up with a story about a girl named Sara that is experimenting ways to keep her apples from turning brown. Students read the story and then answer 10 questions about the Scientific Method. (Multiple choice and some short answer)
Vocabulary includes: Control group, variable, question, research, hypothesis, experiment, analysis and conclusion.
This could be a great quiz at the end of your unit on Scientific Method, or it could be a way to discuss and review the steps prior to the quiz.
