This quiz has two parts.
Part A. There are two different versions to this section. Each version consists of 6 questions where students convert numbers from standard form to scientific notation or scientific notation to standard form. This part is designed for students NOT to use their calculators. There is also a part for students to initial that they have read the directions to help them to start reading the directions.
Part B: There are two different versions. Each version has 4 questions, but this section the kids can use their calculator. In this section it ask the kids to multiply and divide scientific notation problems and leave their answers in scientific notation.
I print Part A on a different Color than Part B so I can keep track of which part can use a calculator and which can't. When they finish part A I have them raise their hand or bring it up to receive Part B then they can get out their Calculators.
I usually give my kids about 30 minutes to complete this quiz.
