These stations make great practice or review for scientific notation concepts, including estimating very large and very small quantities in real contexts using scientific notation; comparing numbers written in scientific notation to determine the scale factor used to obtain the second from the first; and multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting numbers in scientific notation. Students practice by working collaboratively in groups and moving around the classroom where they find a new set of practice problems at each table.
