This is a 30 minute – 45 minute 2 page activity (10 short answer questions) to get students involved in reading and solving math problems that involve conversions and scientific notation. Answer key is included.
This activity is from my Earth Day Unit
Earth Day Math for grades 6-12: Conversions, Graphs, and more!
Students can work individually, in pairs or small groups.
Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), using tools strategically. Apply properties of operations to calculate with numbers in any form; convert between forms as appropriate; and assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies.
