This PowerPoint presentation introduces students to the concept of scientific variables. Students are given definitions and explanations of independent variables, dependent variables and constant variables.
Students are then challenged to read scientific questions and, given a specific variable, determine whether the variable is independent or dependent. This can be done as a class discussion or you can have students write down their answers for a graded activity. Following the 20 question slides are answer slides, allowing you to be able to go back afterwards and discuss student responses for each.
This download includes a zipped folder containing the PDF file, a PowerPoint Show file, and an editable PPT file for this product. (Please note that if you use the editable PPT version, fonts and formatting may be altered depending on your computer while the other 2 versions should keep formatting and fonts locked as shown in the preview above).
