Just a few of the ways you can use this pack:
*make cones/dish to represent a way to show a number you call out (show me recording paper works well for this too- students can check off as they go)
*make a cone/dish to represent a way to show a number they select from a pile/bag/container (use number cards for this method) (and use optional recording sheet)
*make a cone/dish to show a number sentence you call out/write on a board
*make a cone/dish to show a number sentence they select from a pile/bag/container (use the composing/decomposing number sentences for this method)
*Work in a center to make different combinations for particular numbers you are working with, review numbers already covered, etc.
Put out several different cone/dish combinations around a table. Have students move from seat to seat to determine what the corresponding number sentence would be. You can have paper there for them to record on, use recording sheets provided, have a dry erase board at the ‘station,’ etc! And vice versa- have the number sentences and cone/dish/scoops in center and they must create to match.
A sheet of fun ideas is also included! Bring in real ice cream and/or use play doh along with this pack!
