Scoot can be played individually or as a whole class.
*Cut out the cards. Laminate for future use if you choose.
*Give each student a recording sheet and a card.
*The students complete the problem number from their card in the designated number space on their recording sheet.
*After a designated time, the students “scoot” to the seat next to them and work the problem at that desk. Alternately, after the designated time, the students pass their card to the student next to them.
*As a challenge, I like to start at a certain time frame, then challenge the students to drop the time by ___ seconds. (ie: They start at 30 seconds, then it drops to 25 seconds, then 20 seconds, etc.) As they practice, they get faster.
*After all the cards have been solved, either the teacher or student can check the answers putting a check or x in the box in the corner of the recording sheet for each problem.
