Have you ever played 'scoot' in your classroom? If not, you need to give it a try! Students will love that they get to get up and move around the classroom, all while working!
Simply print and cut out each card. Mix up the cards and place them around the room (or on desks) in a circle or in a uniformed manner.
Students will take their recording sheet and stand behind a desk. When you say start, students will match up the letter on their problem card with the corresponding letter on their recording sheet. They will write their answer on the correct letter line.
After a set amount of time (I usually give 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on the difficulty) I call time to stop. When you say “scoot”, all students will move one spot. They will answer the next question. Repeat this process until all students have every card answered.
For this edition, students will write the CVC word on their recording sheet.
I hope you and your class enjoy!
