Students headed to Middle School have some fears and LOTS of questions! Help your students get the answers they need while playing a fun and engaging game of SCOOT. Students work in pairs to answer generic Middle School type questions as they "scoot" around the room. My classes find working with a partner helpful as they compare and share information as they move through the SCOOT cards. This activity lessens their feelings of, "I'm the only one who doesn't know this," to feeling confident as they share what they know and learn more about their new school.
SCOOT is a fast-paced game that gets your students collaborating, cooperating, and up and moving. Scoot may be played inside or outside and is usually played individually, however in classroom counseling activities, I like to use pairs or trios.
This set is aligned to ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors and includes: instructions for first time SCOOT players, 28 SCOOT cards, Counselor Key (to be completed with specifics for YOUR Middle School), student answer sheet, a sheet of blank cards for creating questions related to your region or Middle School, and questions for processing after the game.
This game is designed to be an INK SAVER! I recommend printing on colored card stock to match the colors of the Middle School your students will attend.
