This product contains six sets of 24 I Have, Who Has cards to supplement Scott Foresman Reading Street Unit 5 (copyright 2007 edition) for first grade. Each of the six stories has its own set of cards. The cards contain words that follow the phonics patterns/skills for the week including spelling words.
Print out set of cards. Laminate for durability. There are 24 cards in each set. Give each student a card. (If you have less than 24 students give some students more than one card or you (the teacher) can play too! If you have more than 24 students perhaps one could be the timekeeper and record how fast the class is able to get through the whole set of cards.) Have students read the card so they know what word to listen for. The person with the start card stands up and says, "Start. I have -----." The student who has that word stands up and says, "I have ----. Who has ----?" Play continues until the stop card is read. My class loves to be timed. I start the timer as soon as the person with the start card starts talking and stop the timer when the last person reads the stop card. We write our times on the board and try to beat our time. The kids LOVE this game!
