Scottsboro Boys Reading Activity - Use with To Kill a Mockingbird or with any unit covering racism, civil rights, injustice
This is a supplemental activity I use for real-life comparisons when I'm teaching To Kill a Mockingbird. It includes an anticipatory activity that is very effective at getting students' attention and making them "step in someone else's shoes." Also included is a nonfiction reading activity (links to article included), questions and answers, and extended research activity.
This activity was previously only available on my To Kill a Mockingbird Teaching Unit & Supplemental Activities CD.
