How do you engage your little reluctant readers? Scrambled Sentences are a great way to ease them into reading and writing simple sentences! Students sort word cards by animal. Then they put the animal cards in order to make a sentence. This is great practice for concepts of print. It reinforces that sentences start with a capital letter and end with a period. The sentences are repetitive so even the earliest readers can feel successful. I've included 3 different recording sheets so you can differentiate this activity. My students love to work on Scrambled Sentences during center time!
