This is Part 1 of 3 of Scrambled Sentences: Sight Word Center. Lessons included in this file are 1-16. Part 2 is now available in my TpT store for purchase for the second half of the school year! Part 3 will be completed in March for the end of the school year.
Scrambled sentences are a fun way to learn sight words in your classroom. My kids LOVE these and they LOVE the time they get to discuss and work with small groups. Students work together to fix sentences that have been scrambled up, after the teacher models how to make the sentence make sense in a whole-group setting. They work with group members to put the sentence back in order and then each member reads the sentence to make sure it makes sense. When you feel students are ready, give them lined paper to begin copying the sentence down to take home. I usually get through 3-4 rotations in about 15-20 minutes. It depends how much time your school day allows for you to do this activity!
Each sight word is highlighted in yellow if that is the word(s) we are learning that particular week. Pictures AND words are included on some cards to differentiate. Sentences were designed to pace with seasons (i.e: when you introduce the words see, we, a, to....it will have pictures that go with a Halloween theme because that is around the time you will introduce those words).
I hope your kinders enjoy this activity as much as mine do!! Thank you for purchasing and please feel free to leave comments/questions :)
