Description
Children need many opportunities for practicing sentence structure. This is still a concept that even students in the older grades struggle with, so various types of consistent exposure and practice is important.
Description:
Engage your students with this Martin Luther King, Jr. scrambled sentences activity and teach them about MLK in a fun way! This unit provides students with the opportunity to build sentences by putting the words and punctuation in the correct order.
Not only are your students working on sentence structure, but they are also learning about Martin Luther King, Jr! If you know me, you know I LOVE content integration.
These sentences are geared towards 2nd and 3rd graders, however, this is also very beneficial for 4th grade students.
How This Works:
I cut and laminate my word cards for durability, but you can also just print, cut the cards, and have the students start using them right away! #LowPrep
Students will unscramble the 6 sentences, and write the sentences on the recording option of your choice. I love to have my students work in partners or groups to build the sentences, but this could also be used in a literacy center.
This Low-Prep Product Includes:
6 different sentences about Martin Luther King, Jr
3 different recording sheet options:
- Foldable Booklet
- Interactive Notebook
- Writing Page for Paragraph Writing
Answer Key for students to check their sentences (You could also have a parent volunteer use this as a guide/answer key)
