This creative book report focuses on the genre of realistic fiction and the importance of relatable characters and storylines for young readers. Along the way, your students will put their creativity to the test as they analyze relationships and plot events that lead to important changes for the main character, discuss point of view and learn to view situation from an alternate perspective, and focus on developing empathy and problem solving skills as they create a fictional journal between themselves and the main character.
Included are teacher directions and the student packet. The student packet contains step-by-step directions, a pacing guide, a rubric, and notes pages. Feel free to supplement with any additional materials or graphic organizers that will help your students.
