This art lesson is bound to IMPRESS all and keep students ENGAGED with very little prep from you! Students will be engaged in creating a scratchboard drawing of an animal. In this middle school or high school art lesson students will create implied texture using a variety of marks with the scratch tools. In addition, students will be informally assessed to check for understanding of their knowledge on the following categories of art: portrait, still life and landscape. The PowerPoint slides and/or PDF slides includes: lesson objectives, standards (use 2- or 3-dimensional art materials to understand the potential and limitations of each & create art work requiring sequentially ordered steps and required media to achieve intended results), art vocabulary (portrait, composition, texture, tactile texture and implied texture), a biography of Johns James Audubon and an art critique of his artwork, a informal assessment to check understanding on the difference between portrait, still life and landscape, step by step instructions, partner critique, student examples and a YouTube video art tutorial.
ALSO Includes: 100+ ready to print images to transfer to 6"x9" scratchboard and printable rubric for student use.
