These are slides that can be displayed for whole or small group phonics practice!
Included are 100 PowerPoint presentation slides featuring sight word "tricky words" aligned with the CKLA Skills curriculum for kindergarten and first grade.
This set of Screen Slides is also part of my money-saving bundle:
Unlimited Screen Slides Literacy Tasks!
We use these screen slides as warm-ups or cool-downs during Guided Reading, word study, and intervention groups.
There are two slides for each of the 50 sight words. The first slide is text only and the second slide uses the sight word in a simple sentence or phrase with corresponding picture.
Each slide features a secured png graphic - this makes it easy to reorder or delete a slide to make a customized presentation to meet YOUR students' needs. Mix and Match with my all of my other Screen Slides for differentiation!
I introduce new sight words using the picture and text slide for each word. The strong visual anchor with supporting context helps my students remember the sight word. Then I move to displaying only the text slide to check for understanding. Once my students are demonstrating mastery, I spiral in both types of slides to reinforce!
Don't use CKLA Skills in your classroom? No worries, many of the words appear on the Dolch Word or Fry sight word list.
Here are the included tricky words:
