Each year my class performs a play on stage complete with curtains, sound, and lighting. When I run into my former students, even years later, they always say, "Remember when we did the play?" I adapted this script from "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," by Barbara Robinson. I have previously had my class perform "The Best School Year Ever" and had some requests to write this script.
It can also be used for a Reader's Theater if you are not interested in using it as a full production. It includes a 16 page script, as well as a list of characters. The number of roles can be adjusted by combining or separating parts, or having students read two or three minor parts. A few roles are also gender neutral and can be adjusted depending on the number of boys and girls involved.
