Product Description

This student-ready document prompts students in what I call a Weekly Writing to try Scripting a Fable. Students convert fables from prose to drama (i.e. paragraph form to script). They can choose from one of the following:

The Milkmaid and Her Pail The Dog and the Bone

The Grasshopper and the Ant The Lion and the Mouse

The Wind and the Sun The City Mouse and the Country Mouse

The Fox and the Crow The Boy Who Cried Wolf

The Tortoise and the Hare

I graded fables using my FLOG (format, length, originality, grammar) rubric.

F- typed script/play

L- about 2 pages (DS)

O- not just a literal translation

G- spelling/mechanics
