PRODUCT DESCRIPTION


In this project, students experience working with non-objective subject matter, personal symbolic imagery, and collaboration in small groups to define a common color element to include, as well as interaction during final assembling of all group components for an asymmetrical, self-supporting, non-objective sculpture-in-the-round. The lesson lends itself to student exposure to a variety of artists and cultural connections, and reinforces personalization of work in multiple ways. This detailed lesson is aligned with National Visual Arts Common Core Standards, and contains images of students working on personal components, in group dialogue when assembling their sculpture, and images of several finished sculptures.
