If you're looking for a special way to integrate informational text and meet both language arts and science standards, you've come to the right place! In my classroom students worked in groups to sort the 24 sea star cards under the headings of Sea Star Facts, Sea Star Fibs, or Unsure. Then they read the informational text passage to either confirm, or determine the correct placement of each card. This was a wonderful way to gather facts prior to writing. My students LOVED this rigorous and meaningful activity, and they learned so much about the stars of the sea! Happy teaching!
