The Seasonal Adaptations Sequence Cards follow four animals: a squirrel, a bear, a Monarch butterfly, and a Canada goose through the four seasons, discussing adaptations such as hibernation, migration, and hoarding.
The child chooses an animal card and analyzing the photo and text cards to determine which photos and captions match this animal. The child then sequences the photo cards and text cards in two rows to tell the story of that animal's seasonal behaviors and adaptations.
Print in color on card stock and laminate for repeated use, or make copies for a cut and paste activity. Color code number labels on the back of the cards if you would like to create a self-correcting activity. For instance, use brown marker to write the number 1-4 on back of each of the picture cards and text cards for the bear and use green marker to labels the backs of the frog cards.
Please look for the free handout to accompany this activity in my store. It is entitled: Seasonal Behaviors and Adaptations Handout (to accompany Seasonal Behaviors and Adaptations Sequencing Card activity).
