You get five different journal pages to use all year long: One for each season and one generic template with cute pencil icons. Each page includes a built-in rubric. I create a journal for each child to use during each season so I can see growth over time. These are great to share with parents too. Students earn one point for including each of the following elements on their page: their name, spaces between words, a capital and period, if they attempted to sound-blend, and if their paper is neat. The teacher quickly assesses their work and places a dot or circles the icons earned. The student colors the earned icons. This really helps students understand the elements needed to earn five icons. There is a place for students to illustrate too. Download the preview to grab your FREEBIE, remember to leave feedback, and visit my blog: for tons of FUN.
