Question: I am a way to practice reading.

I am a way to develop listening skills.

I am aligned with Common Core Standards for ELA

Kids love me, because I’m lots of fun!

    What am I?

    Answer: RIDDLES!

Listen to what this buyer said! "Easily one of the best products I've ever bought. It is great for students to use their background knowledge and make inferences. I put a new one in conversation station each month and they never get tired of it."

How can riddles help my students?

    * Riddles are a highly motivating way to lay the groundwork for making inferences and drawing conclusions (CCCS 2.RL.1: Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text).

    * Riddles are a great way to reinforce content area vocabulary! Use them for whole class activities, or add them to your literacy centers for cross-curricular connections! They'll build your students' background knowledge, a critical factor for reading comprehension.

    * Riddles are great for building listening skills. Helpful for those students who are certain they know the answer before you've read the whole question!

    * Use riddles as a starting point for your writing lessons. Many of the sets in this bundle include themed writing templates, for your students to create their own riddles.

Bundle Bonus: With this bundle, you will also receive eight "On the Farm" riddles and related cards, available exclusively in this set!
