How can riddles help my students?
* Riddles are a highly motivating way to lay the groundwork for making inferences and drawing conclusions (CCCS 2.RL.1: Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text).
* Riddles are a great way to reinforce content area vocabulary! Use them for whole class activities, or add them to your literacy centers for cross-curricular connections!
* Riddles are great for building listening skills!
* Use riddles as a starting point for your writing lessons. Many of the sets in this bundle include themed writing templates, for your students to create their own riddles.
